5. Data analysis

The next two nodes in the framework are more inline with the traditional scientific method. The data analysis node symbolises that it is time to look at the patterns in the large data set. As data sets grow larger and larger, the methods of analysis are becoming more important in science. However, as the MVE was used to iron out problems with the experiment and ensure that there are indeed interesting patterns in the data on a smaller scale, data analysis at this stage should be relatively straightforward. From here, researchers go on to think about models for the data and then the final node: Going Public.
